Porchway

The Porchway of any English Home is usually the first point of contact for any salesmen or women who are after your precious little income. Income you cannot afford to give away on luxuries, like double glazing or carpet cleaning etc, etc. So we have written a few suggestions of what to say to these people when they knock on your Porchway door.

1. I am sorry but my father is not in. [usually works if your youngish]

2. I am just the lodger mate and the owner is out. [always works]

3. I am out of work mate and cannot afford it. [sometimes works but they may offer you a job]

Obviously these are polite suggestions to get rid of salesmen but they do work.

When it comes to shopping for your family, you should shop around and find the best bargains.

By far the cheapest supermarket around this area is Netto's. We cannot fault this supermarket at all.

Some items of clothing and furniture can be found in charity shops. Please remember that anything you buy from charity shops is money well spent and it goes to good causes. To be Charitable is a good Human Characteristic and any good deeds that you do will come back to you eventually.
