The Judy Woods Project was jointly funded by the Royds Community Association and a grant from the Local Heritage Initiative. It is a partnership between Royds, other groups and local people.

The Local Heritage Initiative ( LHI ) is a national grant scheme that helps local groups to investigate, explain and care for their local landscape, landmarks, traditions and culture. The grant is provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund, but the scheme is partnership, administered by the Countryside Agency with additional funding from the Nationwide Building Society.
