Iron Foundry in the 1800s
This picture reminds me of my apprenticeship in the iron foundry at Crofts. Obviously the equipment they were using them days is far cruder than what we have today. The man who is operating the lifting aparatus for the ladle is a prime example, he is having to pull and wind it into position, not an easy job for moving a ton of Iron about.
