Testing the temperature.  [ put on here 2006. ]

A small bush of dry twigs was placed into the hole to demonstrate the high temperature inside, obviously it is still hot enough to ignite wood after millions of years.

Water was also used to demonstrate the heat content of the floor underfoot. Using a bucket it was poured into metal pipes inserted into the ground, then the pourer quickly moved away whilst nature instantly turned the water into powerful steam. The Cafe to the left of the gentleman is heated solely by the same source, food is also cooked by Nature.

Underneath is a griddle that hangs over another entrance to the heat source and at the moment this picture was taken sweet potatoes were being cooked on it.

Underneath we are looking down inside the griddle.

Underneath is a sample of a wall that has been constructed using Cold Volcanic lava.
